Gerhard's Cafe

Gerhard's Cafe is an Austrian-American restaurant that has been open since March of 1993.  We are located in the Converse Plaza off  (1200) East Main Street in Spartanburg, SC.  The restaurant includes: a banquet room to accomodate large or small private parties, a fine-dining room to offer a quiet dining experience, a casual dining area (also known as the bar area), a covered heated patio, and a large gravel area (for sunny weather)! We offer a full dinner and bar menu throughout the entire restaurant (no pizzas in the dining room, however).  Our menu offers a wide variety of items and prices to choose from.  Some appetizers include: calamari, crawfish tails, spring rolls, prosciutto, sashimi tuna, and specialty oysters to name a few.  Salads include: ceasar, greek, panzanella, thai cashew vinaigrette, and our house medley offers marinated tomato, potato, and cucumber salads.  (All of our dressings and sauces are homemade.)  Soups we offer daily:  she-crab, black-bean with sausage, onion, and goulash.  Soups are all also homemade.  Pizza/calzone menu from our Brick Oven Pizza with specialty toppings (in addition to the usual): prosciutto, lamb, andouille with cheddar, boston butt bbq, salami, marinated tomatoes and cucumbers. Some (all-time offered) entrees from the seafood side are: coconut crusted tilapia, seafood fettuccini alfredo, shrimp and southern fried grits, homemade crab cakes, and whole Fresh Maine Lobster from our tank!  Specialty entrees include: weiner schnitzel, bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, thinly sliced veal, chicken cordon bleu, beef stroganoff, elk rouladen, duck, filet, new york strip steak, and boar and veal chops.  Side items: homemade spaetzle, homemade mashed potatoes, homemade red and white cabbage, sauteed and grilled vegetables, homemade french fries, and always a special side item for the week!  Our special's menu offers a weekly variety of items from: fresh fish of the day, soup, appetizer, a vegetarian dish and a wild game item (venison, quail, lamb).
